Brew Strong - Live Long...

Our Mission:  To sell high quality coffee beans to people with the right stuff.

By now, chances are you have already tasted my beans, and are looking to get more. So what is it that makes my beans different?

Beans and Heat:
I'm often asked "what kind of flavoring do I put in my coffee?"  The answer is "none".  It's all just beans and heat and all the roasting is done to bring out the flavor of the crop itself.

Freshness:
Information Concerning coffee bean freshness:  At the very end of the roasting process coffee beans are completely odorless.  In about 4 hours a trace of aroma develops, but it takes 2 to 7 days for the full flavor and aroma to arrive. This happens when the beans are sitting together in mass.  The beans sent to you will be ready to go. Grind Away!

Aroma:
When sampling the aroma, the best way is to open the container gently and inhale so slowly that it takes a minimum of 5 full seconds to reach the top of your nose.  The flavors will fractionate and practically create a mild euphoria. Do the same after grinding. This makes the world better!

Grinding:
Experimentation is the key! There are many ways to grind coffee. A common whirly blade grinder will be a start and they are inexpensive. They are not hard to use, and with a little practice you can get consistant in using them. A cone burr grinder allows for more consistant grind size, and they usually have selection dial of some sort. So by changing the grind size and varying the amount used in the brew, anyboby can "zero in" to get the best taste.

I'd advise reading a lot on the internet before spending a lot. I travel with a high quality hand crank box grinder ,and one of my favorite things to do is grind my beans in a motel lobby. The aroma draws a crowd and I end up selling coffee or making a friend!

Brewing:
There are many ways to brew coffee and experimentation will be necessary.  Adjust the grind size and the portion size until you nail it.  I can't help it if you get addicted.  Good water is key!  a filter will remove chlorine and this helps greatly.  I'm lucky enough to live near an artesian well.  I love it!  A lb. of coffee beans will make 30-40 cups.

Blend your own, Please!!
I often randomly throw together different beans on a daily basis. There is no need to mix whole bags, but you may want to once you find something you like. I brew mostly by the cup, so with just a few beans, I can try different blends in one day. Don't hesitate to try three or more types of beans. Think about the 5lb. Win/Win: At about 30/40 cups per bag - That's a lot of possibilities!
